About Doug

Doug has been involved in the theater, the indie film scene and the voiceover world for many years in Chicago.

He recently finished a production of DEAD MAN WALKING at Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston IL.  The play was written by Tim Robbins based on the movie produced with Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn.  Doug played Clyde Percy one of the fathers of the victims.  “My Best serious Dad role to date. I loved the show and will miss it.”

His favorite role in a comedy has been the bumbling husband Bernard in DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER produced at the Citadel Theatre in Lake Forest IL.   Doug loves comedy.  People keep telling him they remind him of Chevy Chase or John Cleese.  Not bad references.

“Bernard’s role DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER keeps you going 100 mph for two hours, it was a lot of fun and a great challenge in timing and physical work.”

Other projects include understudying at The Northlight Theatre in Skokie, IL for the production WHITE GUY ON THE BUS.  This was a new work by Bruce Graham and directed by BJ Jones.  Doug got to watch Francis Guinan of Steppenwolf during rehearsal and performances and had a blast.  He has worked at The Artistic Home, The Poor Theatre and Jackalope Theater in the Chicago store front scene as well.

“I love the theater, but trying to do more film work here in Chicago,” says Doug.  He recently rapped a short film called GUIDANCE, which highlighted his physical comedy talents (“I get hit by a Car!”) and other funny craziness.  The project should be coming out in a few months.  Last fall he completed three episodes of the web series THE DREAMERS where he played the boss of one of the main characters.   “It was one of the best projects I worked on in Chicago so far.” You can see it on his reel.

He has done three small shorts for The Onion based in Chicago.  “BIRDS OF PREY was a well written short on the Click Hole branch of The ONION.    Other projects included a Beautyrest commercial and a short called THE WAITER for the Onion divisions as well.

VOICE OVER is another area Doug is focusing on. He has done several small projects including a clients like Amgen, Chase and a small role in a PS4 game produced by Kiz Studios.  Anyone interested in hearing his voice demo’s can click the tab on the top of this page.

What’s next?  You never know.  With four major TV productions producing in Chicago, it is only a matter of time before Doug gets his shot
